Part of a group of negatives taken for April 20, 1958, Arkansas Gazette article "Arkansas's Rice and Duck Capital is Showing Progress," F5:1. Established by a group of German setters in 1896 Stuttgart, Arkansas County, Arkansas calls itself the "Rice and Duck Capitol of the World." Of the many advances made in Stuttgart in the 1950's, the building of new public facilities stood out. Negative series of Stuttgart includes Stuttgart community leaders Marion Linebarier, waterworks department; Winston Riddle, Chamber of Commerce manager; Frank Brummitt, postmaster; and Frank Essex, president of the local Industrial Development Corporation on a visit to a new water treatment facility.
